Los Stone Roses, el grupo más representativo del sonido Manchester, mezcla de Rock y Acid Jazz, a finales de los 80, principios de los 90.
Aunque no fueron muy prolíficos en cuanto a discos (Sólo 2 en sus 10 años de existencia), si lo fueron en hits musicales, Fools Gold, I am the Resurrection, Waterfall, Ten Storey Love Songs...
Ian Brown con su peculiar voz y puesta en escena, John Squire y sus punteos increibles de guitarra, y por supuesto la base rítmica de Mani y Reni, al bajo y la batería respectivamente, formaron este grupo del que Oasis o Charlatans, son fans aferrimos.
Por cierto, sobre el sónido Manchester, muy recomendable la película "24 Hour Party People", con una banda sónora brutal, sobre como fueron los comienzos de esta nueva escena musical.
